DAOstructor

What does it take to become a DAOstructor?

Prerequisites

To be a DAOstructor, you will need to be a trusted member of the NEAR Ecosystem. Typically, DAOstructors have started a DAO and have become leaders through their active involvement within the community. Having been through the start-up process themselves, DAOstructors aid new and upcoming DAOs in the process of getting started on Astro.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create a playful and fun environment for new members of the NEAR ecosystem, where any question can be explored.

  • Conduct a 4-session course, over the span of 4 weeks, for new DAOs. During these sessions, you'll walk though the history of blockchain, setting up a wallet and making transfers, creating their DAO, and submitting proposals. (More information in the DAOstructor Workflow)

  • Be able to switch perspectives and show empathy. Each person comes to Astro with different knowledge and needs.

  • Focus on safety. Although DAOs are built on “trustless” technology, people can still be taken advantage of. Accordingly, one of the DAOstructors primary roles is to ensure the proper safety education to their students.

  • Stay up to date with the newest NEAR and Astro developments, as well as any updates to the DAOstructor workflow:

Get Involved

Make your availability open with scheduled Office Hours! This is a great way to get familiar with the community and to find your next DAOstructor students.

Additionally, most DAOstructors like to get creative with their involvement. Here are some ideas of things that have been successful in the past:

  • Seminars on DAO topics

  • Webinars to your share your experiences

  • Supplementary book clubs

  • Fun “group practice” events

  • Team building activities

  • DAO Spirit Days and "Field Trips”

  • DAOstructor Conferences

Check out our Educational Resources, which you can use to help facilitate your events! These activities increase the integrity of our community and the meaningfulness of the relationships within. They also help us pinpoint areas for improvement and create a space where we can work together to find creative solutions to problem areas.

Scheduling your event is a breeze. Go to https://nearguilds.com/events/ and click the Green Submit your event Button. It’s also helpful to tweet your event with an @AstroDao and @NEARProtocol. You can also post it in out Community Channel in gov.near.org!

Take care of yourself.

Your mental health comes first. People will begin to recognize you as a reputable source of information, which means they will come to you often. Make sure to set clear boundaries. Create periods of rest for yourself and delegate! Fun, meaningful, connective work is what we aim for in Astro - burnout not included.

Have Questions?

Join office hours! A senior DAOstructor should reach out via email with details about their Office Hours once you've started your DAO. This is a great way to get answers to all DAOstructor-related questions. However, please make sure to read through the full DAOstructor Workflow, where the majority of your questions should be answered.
